A new career. A new home. The end of a relationship or the start of a new one. Living authentically. Finding your voice. There are many reasons to be in therapy, but there's only one person who can make the decision to get started. (Hint: It's you!)
I'm Justin, and I'm so glad we've connected here. Whatever your need, wherever your journey is taking you, I’m here to be your compassionate guide as you discover the answers that often lay within you.

"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"

Justin Walburg-Oberste
Hello! Thank you for checking out my website. I am an associate psychotherapist specializing in LGBTQ+ Affirmative Psychology and Religious Trauma Therapy, and am currently training to become a Sex Therapist.
Since earning my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, I've begun full-time private practice work with Dr. Chris Donaghue, author of "Rebel Love" and "Sex Outside The Lines" and the host of the radio show "Loveline".
In my spare time, I enjoy being in nature, reading, painting, and playing with my dog, Gray. Originally from Powder Springs, Georgia, I now make my home in Santa Barbara, California.

"Though your destination is not yet clear, you can trust the promise of this opening; unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning that is at one with your life's desire."

Private Practice Therapy
I specialize in general psychology & in individual therapy, couples & sex therapy. My specializations includes addiction, sexual and relational work, trauma, sexual compulsivity, sexual dysfunctions, body image issues, and body positivity, including all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and Religious Trauma.
Many of my clients are also dealing with an intersection of their own personal identity and the identity that comes with the complex issues of success, power, fame and the pressures of being in the world today. Anxiety, depression, relationship dynamics, loneliness, addiction, and myriad issues of sex and sexuality tend to dominate my practice. Identity issues, vocation and spirituality are also often a part of my work with clients. How we perceive ourselves and how we believe others perceive us is powerfully linked to other presenting problems in therapy.
